JEN COL is honoured to be part of a project that carries profound meaning for the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc community near Kamloops, BC. Recently featured in a CBC News interview, the new Healing House represents far more than construction progress, it reflects a powerful and ongoing journey toward healing, connection and cultural revitalization.
The interview highlights the purpose behind the facility and the community-driven vision shaping it. Designed as a safe, culturally grounded space, the Healing House will support Survivors of the residential school system and their families through holistic healing that honours spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well-being.
Rooted in Secwépemc values and guided by Elders and community voices, the project emphasizes the importance of reclaiming culture, strengthening identity and creating space for intergenerational knowledge sharing. It stands as a symbol of resilience and self-determination, offering a path forward while acknowledging the past.
For JEN COL, this project is about more than delivering a building. It is about listening, collaborating and ensuring the construction process reflects the significance of what this space represents to the community.
As construction continues in close proximity to the new JEN COL Kamloops office, each milestone brings the vision closer to reality, a place where healing, culture and community will come together for generations to come.
