Our most imperative goal is NO HARM TO PEOPLE and we work together in continuously enhancing a safety culture which allows us to attain and sustain that goal.

Safety is Rooted in our Core Values

Tackle the impossible by raising the bar and finding innovative ways to manage safety and reduce risk to our employees and projects.

Help others grow by investing in our employee’s education and development to manage and mitigate risk at our workplaces.

Go above and beyond by ensuring a safe environment for our neighbours in the communities we work.

Do what you say, say what you mean because words are just words without action, and we deliver on our promise to build projects in a safe and controlled manner to protect everyone involved.

Work together for better results from the start of every project or task, we employ multi-disciplinary teams to analyze risk and reduce exposure to hazards.

Be all in… It’s Personal is a value our employees display every day when we arrive at work. Safety is at the pinnacle of our success.

We actively drive safety awareness on our job sites by implementing the following safety elements:

  • Worker Safety Responsibilities
  • Incident Investigations
  • Hazard Assessments
  • Maintaining Records and Statistics
  • Rules, Regulations & Standards
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Training and Safety Meetings
  • Regular Inspections
  • Safe Work Practices and Job Procedures
  • Emergency Preparedness

Health and Safety Program

JEN COL operates a strict Health and Safety Program that outlines our policies, codes of practices, procedures, guidelines, rules and standards for its employees and sub-trades. This program directs daily operations and activities in reducing worker risk, building on safety practices and minimizing environmental impact.

All employees, partners and subcontractors involved with projects undertaken by JEN COL are required to complete our online orientation program. They are trained that in representing our company on your site, they are held to the industry’s most rigorous safety standards, rules and practices.

Our highest priority at JEN COL is the health and wellness of our people, our clients and the community at large. With the growing concerns around the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we continue to closely monitor and follow the recommendations put forth by Alberta Health Services and the Chief Medical Officer to protect our partners.

From a customer experience standpoint, it is business as usual at JEN COL. We have a variety of technologies and processes in place to ensure we continue to support you and your projects. Our job sites and office remain operational at this time and we continue to service all our clients while exercising appropriate precautions.

Since the onset of the pandemic, we have applied several strategies to help limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus:

  • Implemented our Business Continuity Plan and Response Team
  • Developed a Project Isolation Strategy
  • Limited or restricted visitors to project sites and our office
  • Increased cleaning activities on project sites and our office
  • Used of technology to eliminate in-person meetings
  • Required any JEN COL staff to work from home if they are sick or show symptoms of being sick
  • Implemented additional sick days for field staff
  • Restricted all non-essential travel

Although the world around us is changing rapidly, what has not changed is JEN COL’s commitment and focus on our clients and your projects. Working together for better results has never been more important; and we are available to collaborate with you to share strategies and information to better deal with the impact of COVID-19 within our industry and your projects. Through these uncertain times communications with our partners is critical so please reach out to your project contacts and managers should you require any assistance.
