Award Magazine Feature – Onchaminahos Elementary School

Onchaminahos Elementary School.

We are proud to have one of our Indigenous projects featured in Canada Wide Media’s Award Magazine. The Onchaminahos Elementary School in Saddle Lake, Alberta opened in September 2023 and is home to more than 533 elementary students. The school is a collaborative, inclusive, welcoming space where design expertise, traditional knowledge, and community spirit unify to inspire a learning journey for students and faculty.

Onchaminahos Elementary School was built with the goal of seeing the children of the Nation educated within their Naton’s land, surrounded by their culture, community, language, and traditional teachings. The school’s vision was created by many voices from students to elders.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an inspiring project. Onchaminahos not only provides a high-quality learning environment but also emphasizes the importance of integrating Indigenous culture into education and architecture. We look forward to seeing this school become a cherished home for many generations to come.

Award Magazine Feature – Theresa C. Wildcat Early Learning Centre

Theresa C. Wildcat Early Learning Centre

Excited to have one of our outstanding projects featured in September’s issue of Award Magazine. The Theresa C. Wildcat Early Learning Centre in Maskwacîs, Alberta is nearly complete, and we can’t wait to welcome students from four distinct Nations within the Maskwacîs community (Ermineskin Cree Nation, Louis Bull Tribe, Montana First Nation and Samson Cree Nation) to their new school.

This was truly a “community” project as several members of the local First Nations communities worked on the construction of their school which was designed and built to honor First Nation culture and traditions.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to be part of a project that so clearly demonstrates the transformative power of education. This will be a safe and nurturing space for all the community’s children for generations to come.
