The Driftpile Health Centre is currently under construction and will be a brand new healthcare facility in Driftpile First Nation, Alberta, created to address the growing healthcare needs of the community. Developed in close collaboration with the Nation, this facility provides a wide range of services that respect and reflect the cultural values and traditions of its members.
The center features several specialized rooms to cater to different health needs: a physiotherapy room for rehabilitation and healing, a dental operatory for oral health care, a fully equipped lab for testing and diagnostics, a treatment room for minor procedures, and an examination room for general medical consultations. A large waiting area is also available to ensure comfort and support for patients and families while they wait for care.
In addition to essential medical services, the Driftpile Health Centre includes a spacious community health room and a dedicated traditional medicine room that honours Indigenous healing practices and holistic approaches to health, allowing community members to access care that aligns with their cultural beliefs and values.
The facility also offers a home care clinic to support those who need health services in their homes, emphasizing community-based care and continuity of support. For the healthcare team, there is a large staff room with a kitchen, providing a welcoming space for rest and rejuvenation. Additional storage and laundry rooms ensure the center remains well-organized and functional, enabling the delivery of high-quality, culturally sensitive care to all community members.
