Through every construction project, we strengthen communities, create excellent jobs, build lasting relationships, and help our clients thrive.
The JEN COL Story
Founded in 1978 by Ron and Yvonne Jodoin as a family-run construction company, JEN COL soon became known as Alberta’s most trusted builder of schools and critical public facilities. It’s a reputation we fastidiously built upon, and today bring our experience, skill and reliability to a diverse range of public and private project types across western Canada. Now headquartered in Acheson, AB, the JEN COL goal remains the same: deliver The Unrivaled Project Experience.
JEN COL exists to Build a Better Future. It’s a purpose that has less to do with construction than it may seem: continuous improvement is what we’re about, in everything we touch. And while that includes better infrastructure and pride-worthy buildings, creating those is how we best use the gifts we have. Along the way, we help strengthen communities, educate children, create excellent careers, build lasting relationships and help our clients thrive. That’s the future state we focus our collective passion toward achieving, every single day.
Cory has been with JEN COL since 1998 and became President & CEO in 2013. He is responsible for the overall vision and strategy of the company. Cory’s extensive experience—both on-site and management—allows him to bring an innovative and progressive leadership approach to motivate and inspire his team.
Cory’s goal is to build an enduring organization that provides exceptional value to everyone who engages JEN COL. He believes success is derived by combining talented people with a clear purpose in a positive culture. Cory has worked from the ground up at JEN COL—he understands all aspects of the firm and what it takes to build and lead a successful construction company in the 21st century.
Giving back to others and helping develop talented future leaders is Cory’s passion. He is the Chairman of the Program Advisory Committee for NAIT’s Construction Engineering Technology program and a Board Member for Compete to Contribute—an organization that inspires and empowers youth to engage in creating a healthier community.
Kyla joined the JEN COL team in 2007, moving into an executive leadership role as Chief Financial Officer in 2014. Along with her current responsibilities of managing all financial aspects of the firm, she takes an active role in setting strategic direction, mentoring future leaders and living out JEN COL’s core values – each and every day.
Kyla’s highlighted accomplishment has been as steering committee member for the Western Canadian Chapter of Construction Financial Management Association, bringing financial professionals together to enhance the construction industry in Edmonton.
Her vision is to strengthen the awareness of Corporate Social Responsibility for JEN COL’s internal and external partners, setting the path for social and environmental change.
