Derek Taylor Public School was a new 600 capacity K-9 school built in the Mission Heights neighborhood in the southwest corner of Grande Prairie.
Designed as a 2-storey walk out, this 5065 m2 facility brought construction challenges. These included an extremely tight schedule, along with the complexity of a building being built on a sloped site.
Delivery was through construction management, with multiple tenders for phased construction. With the partners involved in this project, Jen-Col achieved under budget and on schedule for the Grande Prairie Public School District.
The beauty of this school is displayed inside and out. It utilizes smart instructional technologies.
