The ASAP III modular additions was made up of 15 total modular additions in 4 schools around central and southern Alberta. The project comprised of the addition of 8 Modulars that were installed in Chestermere at the East Lake School, 4 in Medicine Hat at the Dr. Roy Wilson School, and 3 in Red Deer split between the Father Henri Voison and Ecole Barrie Wilson schools.
Each Modular was prefabricated by MODUS in Carstairs and then trucked to site where it was lifted into place. Jen-Cols scope on these projects was constructing the foundations for these new modulars to be lifted onto as well as completing required connections to the existing building.
Schedule was the main driver for these projects as the time-frame for construction was the schools was during summer break, approximately 8 weeks. All four of the sites were completed on time as required for kids coming back to school. There were a small amount a change orders that added to the contract value, all of which were due to issues with the original design.
Overall these were challenging but successful projects for Jen-Col.
